Transfer to Thinadhoo

The Male international airport is the point of entry in Maldives, and there are daily connections, in some cases frequently, such as Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, and some European countries, besides charter flights.

Arrival flights details and guests´names are necessary during booking or at least 3 days before arrival, and Ecoboo will organize local logistics.

An Ecoboo representative will greet guests at the airport and will escort them to the speedboat or seaplane.

In case the guests decide for the seaplane, the baggage limit is 20 kg and 5 kg for hand luggage. All excess baggage must be paid directly to Maldivian Aero. Individual baggage exceeding 20 kg will not be accepted.

Please avoid having your luggage wrapped in plastic at your departure airport. Single-use plastics such as luggage wrap have a very negative effect on the natural environment.

Speedboat schedule Saturday to Thursday:
The speedboat takes 90 minutes to reach Vaavu Atoll from the airport.
Departure from Malé to Thinadhoo Island – 10am & 4pm
Departure from Thinadhoo Island to Malé – 6am & 1pm
Speedboat schedule Friday:
Departure from Malé to Thinadhoo Island – 9:30am
Departure from Thinadhoo Island to Malé – 6am
Speedboat price : 130 USD return ticket per person and 65 USD single ticket
(Included in the ” pack experiences”)

Seaplane Schedule:
The seaplane takes 30 minutes to reach Vaavu Atoll from the airport.
Advance booking (5 days before arrival) is required for seaplane transport.
The seaplanes only operate during the day, from 06:00 to 16:00.
Seaplane price: 500 USD return ticket per person and 250 USD single ticket.

Ecoboo does not take any responsibility in case of any delays.
In case the guest misses the previously scheduled speedboat the reservations will arrange transfer logistics for the next transfer available.

Visa

Free visa will be granted upon arrival, valid for 30 days.

Dietary special requirements

We have a wide range of menus to suit most dining requirement and our chefs can customise meals according to your preferences (including vegetarian, plant-based, pescatarian, and halal). Please inform us about your needs and we will do the utmost to please you.

Languages spoken in the hotel

English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Hindi and Divehi (local).

Payment currency

The hotel accepts USD and EURO, as well as local shops in the Island.

Credit cards

Visa and MasterCard can be used to pay the extras.

Accesssibility

All are welcomed at Ecoboo: individual guests or couples, families, groups as well as guests with mobility limitations. In case of special needs please contact us and we will make all efforts in making your vacation memorable.

Photografic material

It is welcomed, and it is permited to use drones while respecting the privacy of others.

Climate

Maldives has a tropical climate all year round. It is subject to the influence of the monsoons with winds from different directions according to the season. There are two seasons; the dry, “Iruvai”, monsoon from Northeast from December to May, and the wet, “Hulhangu”, monsoon from Southwest from May to November and the rain is predominantly with intervals of sunny weather. The wind that brings the rain blows from southwest to northeast. The temperature ranges from 28º-31ºC all year round. The water temperature is always comfortable ranging from 27º-29ºC.

Clothing

We recommend summer clothing, practical and informal, not forgetting sun glasses, sun hat, sun cream and slippers or rubber shoes.

During day and night it is not permitted in restaurants wet swimming clothing, and guests must always dress at least T-shirts in these areas.

For the little ones

Children are most welcomed. Parents are kindly requested to look after their children avoiding situations which could affect the tranquility and atmosphere which is typical of the hotel. We also recommend to avoid dangerous activities.

Customs regulations

It is absolutely forbidden to import underwater spear guns; sacred images or statuettes; pork meat or sausages; alcohol of any type; pornographic magazines; videos and DVDs’ (except for unused videos and DVDs still in their packaging). Nor it is allowed to bring in domestic animals of any kind. Very severe penalties are in force against the importation and use of drugs. It is strictly forbidden to export turtle shells, coral and shells not bought through legitimate commerce. In the interests of the environment, it is forbidden to break or walk on coral.

Alcohol

Maldives is an Islamic country, and as such alcohol is not permitted in local islands. However, we have a safari boat in front of Thinadhoo island, where you can relax surrounded by the stunning turquoise water of Maldives having a glass of wine or a delicious cocktail and a variety of fresh seafood.

Local regulations

In Thinadhoo, on the beach, there is a specific area  with no dressing code for tourists (bikini beach)

For walking on the Island it is recommended to avoid too much body exposure.

Mosquitoes

Being a tropical region, and despite prevention measures, mosquitoes can appear, reason why we reccomend the use of repelents. They can also be bought on the island.

Medical support

A medical center with a permanent resident doctor is available in the Island, and in Felidhoo, atoll capital, an Island 10 minutes away by boat, there is a hospital.
